The KLIA Next Generation Hub concept is not the only significant "first" achieved by Malaysia Airports.
The first airport operating company ever to be listed in Asia, and sixth in the world, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) was incorporated as a public limited company in November 1999, and thereafter listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
MAHB operates and manages Malaysia's 39 airports, comprising international, domestic and Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) airports, with its flagship being KLIA, the proud recipient of many international awards, including "World's Best Airport" three years in a row.
Other recent accolades include receiving The Hall of Fame Award under the Special Organisation Achievement category in the Malaysia Achievement Awards, recognizing MAHB for its outstanding achievements with impeccable vision and a passion for excellence. They received the SKYTRAX Best Airport Staff Asia Award, as well as recognition for its leadership with the awarding of the inaugural Exceptional Service To Aviation by Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) in 2012.
MAHB has now expanded its operations worldwide, forming international partnerships in India, Turkey and Maldives. They are evolving with the times, moving beyond an airport infrastructure and service provider to a more holistic commercially-focused airport business.
