The KLIA Next Generation Hub concept is not the only significant "first" achieved by Malaysia Airports.

The first airport operating company ever to be listed in Asia, and sixth in the world, Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) was incorporated as a public limited company in November 1999, and thereafter listed on the Main Board of the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange.
MAHB operates and manages Malaysia's 39 airports, comprising international, domestic and Short Take-off and Landing (STOL) airports, with the flagship being KLIA, the proud recipient of many international awards, including "World's Best Airport" three years in a row.

Other accolades include World's Leading Airport Hotel in 2008 for its 5-star Pan Pacific KLIA hotel, and the prestigious Green Globe 21 certification recognising MAHB's commitment to sustainable development. MAHB was also named Company of the Year by the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport in 2007.

MAHB has now expanded its operations worldwide, forming international partnerships to run the new Hyderabad International Airport and New Delhi International Airport in India, Astana International Airport in Kazakhstan and the Sabiha Gokcen International Airport in Turkey.

MAHB has evolved with the times, moving beyond an airport infrastructure and service provider to a more holistic commercially-focussed airport business.
