Now, however, let’s have a look at some of the most wonderful Chinese New Year mall decorations in Malaysia for the Year of the Tiger 2022!

Pavilion Bukit Jalil—Prosperous, Bountiful & Joyful New Year

One of the newest malls to be built in Malaysia, Pavilion Bukit Jalil, has officially themed their Chinese New Year mall decorations “Prosperous, Bountiful & Joyful” replete with exciting events, powerful performances, promising promotions, and exclusive gifts, redemptions, etc.

“As the tiger is full of life and positive energy, luck and strength, this Year of the Tiger is apt for us to fully embody its spirit and drive to achieve and make progress. We are confident that with this roaring start to the year, we will see a mighty comeback in 2022, alongside our valued tenants, partners as well as shoppers. With the new year bringing new beginnings, Pavilion Bukit Jalil welcomes all to immerse in a Prosperous, Bountiful & Joyful Chinese New Year 2022,” says Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn. Bhd, Retail Planner of Pavilion Bukit Jalil.

Visitors to Pavilion Bukit Jalil will be greeted by Chinese lanterns in all shapes and sizes, as well as scenic cherry blossom trees. Spot the Chinese Palace as you walk down the Spanish Steps, then take a trip through the Spring Blossom Tunnel, followed by a ride on the Lantern Carousel or the Lunar Train for RM10 per ride. From 22 January to 27 February, there will also be a Sonic Park Chinese New Year carnival at the Piazza. Weekly traditional stage performances such as dance and drum performances, Lion Dances, God of Prosperity walkabout and others would also be performed.

Shoppers also stand a chance to win Bountiful Gift Redemptions, including an exclusive design and limited-edition festive Tote Bag, Pyrex Casserole Glassware, Snapware Glass Bottle, canned braised baby Abalone, festive designed cutlery set, and Happy Bag with Pavilion Bukit Jalil Red Packets. Pavilion KL—Blooms of Prosperity

Fitting with their “Blooms of Prosperity” theme, Pavilion KL has collaborated with international award-winning modern origami artist, Master Chen Xiao (陈晓), to bring to life the intricacy and beauty of paper art with a spectacular 30-foot Pavilion Paper Art Garden representing the harmony of the five elemental tigers (Metal, Wood, Water, Fire, Earth) in a Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter setting. The Pavilion Paper Art Garden can be found in the Centre Court featuring the natural elements of the four seasons: blooming daffodils in spring with the Blue Tiger; peonies in summer with the Red Tiger; stunning golden-leaf maple trees in autumn with the Silver Tiger, and peach blossom trees for the winter season with the Black Tiger. The fifth tiger, the Yellow Tiger, can be found right at the centre of the garden atop the large Gold Mountain. Chinese lanterns and blooming flowers surround the Pavilion Paper Art Garden, making for both a festive atmosphere and photo opportunity for visitors. Pop-up stalls with new year goodies are here till 15 February, and especially not to be missed is Maybank’s Wishing Well.

Of course, Tiger Beer is not missing the opportunity of the Year of the Tiger, so they have partnered with Pavilion KL, and the Main Entrance features Tiger’s ‘Roar Together’ art installation by three prominent artists – embroidery artist Sheena Liam, installation artist Pamela Tan, and mural artist Thomas Powell. Tiger Beer has also transformed the iconic Pavilion Crystal Fountain into a modern Chinese New Year digital lantern display, featuring captivating lights and augmented reality ‘Roaring Greetings’ to interact virtually with a Tiger and generate Chinese New Year greetings to be shared with family and friends. The Pavilion Elite giant LED screen is also featuring Tiger Beer’s mesmerising 3D animation show where their blue and orange striped mascot wishes everyone a roaring Year of the Tiger. Tiger Beer also has two games at Connection for shoppers to participate and win exclusive merchandise.

The DIOR pop-up store on Level 3 has their own theme, “The Enlightened Blooming Garden” which features a crouching tiger amidst a blooming garden of red flowers, and houses DIOR’s exclusive Chinese New Year 2022 collection.
