Christmas Mall Decorations in Malaysia 2021

Christmas Mall Decorations in Malaysia 2021

Christmas time in Malaysia always means that malls here would be decking the halls with boughs of holly, among many other mesmerising adornments. After all, Christmas mall decorations are some of the ways to attract visitors, especially those who are looking for Instagrammable photo opportunities. Let’s take a look at some of the shopping complexes in Malaysia with the best Christmas mall decorations for 2021.

1 Mont Kiara—Christmas is Back

Visitors to 1 Mont Kiara, located in the township of Mont Kiara in Kuala Lumpur, will be greeted by several Christmas trees decorated with sparkly golden baubles, together with a few reindeer as well as snowflakes hanging from the top. Children should also look out for the colourful ladybug carousel that goes around a big red mushroom, which is stationed at the mall’s atrium. What’s more, the mall has also scheduled several captivating performances and activities up until 19 December 2021. Some of these include a Santa & Santarina Meet & Greet, Xmas DIY Ornament Making, and ballet performances by Asia Ballet Academy on 18 December.

“This is the first major celebration that the mall is observing ever since the country transitioned into Phase Four of the National Recovery Plan, so we have been raring to welcome shoppers back into the mall for the festive season,” said mall general manager Sylvia Low.

Check out the schedule below to see what other activities you can catch at 1 Mont Kiara this Christmas season!

Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang—A Snowy Christmas

1 Utama—Let JOY surround this Christmas abounding with gifts, great times and a merry spirit for all to share!

As one of the largest shopping malls in the world, 1 Utama is well-known. This year, their Christmas mall decorations are not limited to just a tiny area either, as they have built a Christmas-themed Village at Lower Ground Oval, one of the largest concourses offered in Malaysia. Here, you’ll see several shops occupying rustic cottages, with a pathway in the middle surrounded by several Christmas trees leading up to the massive 50-feet tall Christmas tree centrepiece that has been lavishly decorated with scarlet poinsettias. Apart from these decorations, there are also performances such as carolling and musicals, as well as the outdoor Christmas Market over at Estreet located at 1 Utama E.

Until 28 December, shoppers will also receive complimentary exclusive Christmas gifts and 1 Utama’s 2022 calendar with a minimum spend of RM150 at any ONECARD participating outlet. More info is as follows:

Pavilion KL—Mystical Christmas

The Centre Court in Pavilion KL will enchant shoppers with their 30-feet tall fairy Christmas tree among several smaller ones, as well as a few festive snowmen and reindeer all inside a snow village that also features some stalls. This all makes for an impressive backdrop for Christmas photos.

The festivities are not limited to the indoors either, as shoppers can also catch the Coach ‘Give A Little Love’ Bespoke Holiday Installation at the iconic Pavilion Crystal Fountain which leads to the front of the Coach store. Plus, the LED screen by the Main Entrance to the mall would also feature Rexy, the beloved mascot for Coach. Also by the Main Entrance is a 40-feet tall Christmas tree, which you can take a photo of together with the Coach Holiday Polar Bear.

“As Malaysia’s premier shopping destination, we are a hub for award-winning festive celebrations and I know every year, shoppers look forward to admiring our dramatic decorations. We are very honoured that they have chosen Pavilion KL to be part of the itinerary in their Christmas celebrations. On behalf of Pavilion KL, I wish all our shoppers a blessed, safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” said Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, Pavilion KL.

For this Christmas season, Pavilion KL has brought back their RM1,000,000 CASH VOUCHER BONANZA, the mall’s biggest shopper reward programme. Maybank cardholders will receive additional dining and shopping vouchers, as well as an exclusive Pyrex Pie Plate with every RM500 spent with a Maybank card, and a Corelle Serving Plate with every RM1,000 spent. Shoppers that spend RM5,000 and above will be gifted a wristlet from Coach (worth RM420).

Da Men Mall—Whimsical Elves Christmas

It seems Da Men Mall in USJ has been invaded by elves who have transformed the mall into their own colourful playground! Check out their cheeky antics both indoors and outdoors as you witness the oversized candy canes, lollipops and presents around the mall, and see if you can catch the elves in action outside. There’s also the Christmas Elves Marketplace on the Ground and Lower Ground Floors where shoppers can browse for gifts, decorations and food, and let the hard-working elves at the Elves Gift Wrapping Station wrap up your gifts for you. Also located on the Lower Ground Floor is the Homes Harmony Household Furnishing Fair for those looking for homeware and decorations. INTI Centre of Art and Design has a surprise waiting for shoppers too: an augmented reality Christmas animation that transports you into a cosy living room with a crackling fireplace and magnificent Christmas tree.

Don’t miss out on the special Christmas Treasure Hunt hosted by Da Men in conjunction with BookXcess’ new outlet opening soon on the 2nd Floor where you can win BookXcess vouchers. Da Men is also holding a Cookie Decorating Activity every weekend where you can decorate your own Christmas cookie or donate to a needy child.

Pavilion Bukit Jalil—A Christmas Wonderland

The newly-opened Pavilion Bukit Jalil recently received three entries in the Malaysia Book of Records during its opening day on 3 December 2021: Biggest Golden Rooster Sculpture, Largest Covered Outdoor Event Space, and First 3D Projection Mapping on a Shopping Mall Dome. They kicked off the festivities by turning the mall into a Christmas Wonderland, complete with a picturesque Snow Tunnel, a Christmas Yuletide Carousel, and a Christmas Train at the Centre Court. Car enthusiasts can look forward to the car club gatherings at the Piazza during the weekends!

“We have seen great confidence and commitment from our tenants and retailers, and we are excited to see our perseverance yield fruit with an American-Chinese visiting Malaysia spending RM100,000 at one of our first-in-Malaysia international flagship stores, Tian Yue Tea Joy, a renowned Chinese tea brand from China, on their opening day! With more than a decade of experience in retail, the Pavilion Group has a reputation for providing world-class retail experiences. Visitors to Pavilion Bukit Jalil will be treated to the same level of elevated shopping experiences,” added Dato’ Joyce.

As an added bonus, the mall has RM3,000,000 worth of prizes, giveaways and redemptions up for grabs, including weekly prizes like the OPPO Christmas set (worth up to RM2,000) or the grand prize, a brand-new BMW 218i Gran Coupé (worth RM211,367). Shoppers can Spin & Win with up to 3,000 Happy Bags up for grabs daily with just a minimum spending of RM10 in a single receipt, so there’s something for everybody!

The Gardens Mall—Season of Cheer

Instead of winter, The Gardens Mall has decided to showcase the bright summer lights for their Christmas mall decorations instead. The Gardens Mall has a special tea party arranged at the Ground Floor, and what makes it more magical are the forest animals and flowers surrounding the tea party set, together with the 20-foot Christmas trees and the larger-than-life butterflies that lead you to the tea party’s gift table. Here, you’ll meet the 12-feet tall George Giraffe, and until 26 December 2021, if you take a creative video or Instagram Reels with it and five other key animals amongst the mall’s Christmas décor—Rosie Rabbit, Daisy Deer, Rudolph Reindeer, Alfred Alpaca, and William Whitehorse—you’ll win RM300 worth of shopping vouchers.

Every Saturday and Sunday in December, there will be musical performances of The Christmas Three at 4 PM, and a Santa & Ms Claus Meet & Greet at 2 PM and 5 PM at the mall’s Concourse on the Ground Floor.

Christmas is a time of giving, so in the spirit of giving, you’ll be able to redeem an exclusively designed borosilicate glass container if you spend RM800 (RM700 for Standard Chartered credit cardholders or The Gardens Club members) and above in a single receipt at any of their specialty stores, but this is limited to only 200 redemptions per day.

Additionally, shoppers can perform a convenient and contactless donation through their Touch ‘n Go eWallet over at the North Palm on the Ground Floor to either Beautiful Gate Foundation, an organisation that has been supporting persons with disabilities since 1993; or United Voice, an organisation that is dedicated to reducing the isolation of people with learning disabilities. The Gardens Mall has already donated RM10,000 to each of these organisations.

Mid Valley Megamall—Happy Christmas

Shoppers at Mid Valley Megamall will be greeted with Gingerbread Town at Centre Court where you’ll see several gingerbread houses and a massive gingerbread tower. Smaller gingerbread villages are also at North Court and South Court with their respective specialities, such as GSC merchandise. Don’t miss the Christmas workshops where you can make your own decorations or purchase Christmas accessories, with fun learning experiences for kids of all ages!

Keep an eye out for the Cookie Giveaway Sessions (3 PM to 3:30 PM; 6:30 PM to 7 PM) and Balloon Giveaway Sessions (12:30 PM to 1 PM; 5 PM to 5:30 PM) happening every day until 2 January 2022.
