Genting Winter Wonderland 2021: Celebrate the End of Year!
If you’ve heard of the term “white Christmas” you might be wondering what it is. A white Christmas refers to having snowy weather on Christmas day. While we won’t be expecting to see snow anytime soon in Malaysia, we can have the next best thing, which is to enjoy the cold climate in one of the coolest parts of Malaysia, Genting Highlands, especially with Genting Winter Wonderland.
Genting Winter Wonderland
Every year, Resorts World Genting (RWG) would hold its Genting Winter Wonderland celebration, and this year it’s held from 10 December 2021 to 2 January 2022. As part of this celebration, visitors can expect to see delightful decorations and praiseworthy performances throughout the resort. Central Park, which is part of Genting’s soon-to-be-opened SkyWorlds outdoor theme park, is open to the public for free from 4 PM to 12 AM throughout this time to allow visitors to have a festive experience, especially with the majestic 40-foot Christmas tree. Catch the Christmas carollers and encounter the Elves walkabout, or expect the unexpected with the surprise Christmas Pop Up shows and more!
Christmas Eve & New Year’s Eve Special Performances by Psycusix
On New Year’s Eve (31 December), the festivities of Genting Winter Wonderland will crescendo with musical shows and acrobatic performances by Psycusix, an internationally-acclaimed circus troupe which is also Asia’s largest modern circus troupe in Malaysia.
Indulge At Genting
Enjoy Christmas Roast of chicken, lamb, or beef at Harry Ramsden, SkyAvenue. At the same time, you can also taste RWG’s house-made Silly Santa cocktail and Gluhwein (mulled wine) made available at various restaurants such as Lobby Lounge, High Line Rooftop Market, Harry Ramsden (SkyAvenue outlet), Burger & Lobster and Park Avenue Lounge. Don’t forget to visit ‘The Bakery’ at Genting Grand, as well as ‘Jetpack – Coffee and Fast Fuels’ at Central Park: get your candies, cookies and chocolates from these two places for your own indulgence or as gifts for friends and family.
Those looking forward to the opening of SkyWorlds during Genting Winter Wonderland may be disappointed that they’re not yet open during this time, but fret not as RWG has reopened SkyTropolis, their indoor theme park, for the enjoyment of the whole family during this festive season! Visitors will get to choose between 19 different rides split into three separate categories: Family Rides, Adventure Rides, and Thrill Rides. As the names of the categories would suggest, the rides are divided into different levels of intensity, where Family Rides can be enjoyed by all ages, Adventure Rides can be a bit more exciting, and Thrill Rides are not for the faint of heart. Ride the bumper cars at Boo Boo Bump for a milder experience, or choose the bumper cars at Bumper Boss for greater impact. Those who are more daring can go for the Super Glider, a suspended lie-down coaster that is sure to make your heart race. Each experience is pay-per-ride, and each of the rides is priced based on their categories. For more information on ticket pricing, kindly refer to the SkyTropolis web page.
Another entertainment alternative at Genting is Sky VR, a virtual reality experience that can transport you to different worlds at the push of a button. Experience the fun of paragliding from high up in the sky, or dive into the ocean for a deep-sea mission; expect some special sensory effects for some of these adventures!
This Christmas, as the country begins to recover from the pandemic, let us all enjoy the festive season at Genting Winter Wonderland to our heart’s content while maintaining vigilance in order to keep COVID-19 under control. Share your best experiences there with everyone!
