KLIA Crazy Sale & Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Mini Travel Fair: Shopping Is Better In The Airport!
Thanks to the overwhelming success of the KLIA Crazy Sale & Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Mini Travel Fair that was held at KLIA from 26 to 31 August and then extended until 5 September due to an exceptional response from the crowd, Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) has decided to hold a second edition of the KLIA Crazy Sale & Cuti-Cuti Malaysia Mini Travel Fair at the same location from 25 September to 30 September 2020 featuring more products from more brands.
For those of you who are still unaware of the Crazy Sale, it is an event where the general public is given access to duty-free merchandise usually restricted only to passengers. During this time, you don’t have to be a flyer in order to purchase these duty-absorbed products from some of the biggest duty-free shops like Eraman, Dimensi Eksklusif, etc.
In many ways, shopping in KLIA is very different from shopping in downtown malls. The first noticeable thing is that almost everything sold in KLIA is at almost 70% off. Secondly, most of the products in the airport are imported from abroad, and that includes many things such as imported chocolates that can’t even be found in downtown malls, especially those belonging to unique collections, like 10 different flavours of Kit Kat that aren’t available elsewhere.
Hygiene & Safety
To ensure the health and safety of the public at the terminals, KLIA makes it clear that they are taking this matter very seriously. Masks are mandatory. Temperatures of everyone entering the building are monitored. Social distancing is implemented, and to facilitate that, only 250 people are allowed at a time into the sales area, with a numbered queuing system in place. Meanwhile, children below 13 are not encouraged to be brought in. Last but not least, the airport is sanitised constantly to ensure the cleanliness of the premises.
The second round of crazy sales also sees the return of many crowd favourites, such as the “Shop & Win” contest where every shopper who spends RM250 and above stands a chance to win up to RM3,000. Maybank card users will have double the chances. Not only that, but if you spend RM250 and above you’ll also be getting free parking at KLIA main terminal short-term car park (except for Preferred Parking and Touch ‘n Go entries).
Additionally, the first 1,000 users on shopMYairports will also be able to use RM50 vouchers that they receive from spending RM100 in a single receipt at the Crazy Sales. Spend RM500 and above in a maximum of two sales receipts in a single day and you’ll even be able to redeem a free duty-free shopping bag; Maybank card users need only spend a minimum of RM350.
