Langkawi: A 3D2N Tropical Paradise Getaway!

Sand in your toes, sea breeze in your hair,
sun-kissed skin…
Looks like you’ve been daydreaming of a tropical getaway!

In light of COVID-19, most of us had to cancel travel plans that we were excited for – be it a weekend getaway or the trip of a lifetime. Although we do not know when we can travel again, one thing’s for sure, we can still dream about our future travel excursions and plan them well! #planitwell

Langkawi – The Jewel of Kedah

An archipelago comprising of 99 islands situated in the Straits of Malacca, it is a popular holiday destination whose name is derived from the reddish-brown eagle. The Malay word for eagle is ‘helang’ (shortened to lang) and kawi is a red stone used as a chalk.

Langkawi may be a small island surrounded by azure waters and picturesque hills; but you will find that there is so much to do and something for everyone in Langkawi!

Day 2: A New Adventure!

It’s Day Two in Langkawi and it’s time to get a good dose of adrenaline rush and set your sights on higher ground!

Reach New Heights in a Sky Cab

Located just north of Telaga Harbour, taking the Sky Cab will make you feel like being on top of the world! Featuring the longest free span mono-cable car in Malaysia, the gondola ride can reach 680 meters above sea level and takes about 15 minutes to reach the top of the mountain of Mat Cincang. Legend has it that Mat Cincang used to be a giant that turned himself into a mountain as an act of atonement for quarrelling with his best friend, Mat Raya. Immerse yourself in nature as you take in unique views of flora and fauna in the dense jungles as you ascend the mountain. So, if you are like me – with a mild case of acrophobia; all your goosebumps will fade away at the sight of the most breathtaking landscape of Langkawi.

Walk Among Mountains at Sky Bridge

As you reach the Top Station on the summit of Mount Mat Cincang and alight from the gondola, the first thing that hits you is the cool mountain air. Breathe in and the fresh air and clear your weary mind. There are two viewing platforms with a panoramic 360-degree scenery of Langkawi on the Sky Bridge; which also happens to be the longest free span and curved bridge in the world. You will be treated to a bird’s-eye view of the dominant rugged peaks of Mount Mat Cincang intertwined with tiny islands spreading across the Andaman Sea. Now, that’s a spectacular sight to behold!

Al Fresco Lunch at Scarborough Fish & Chips

A quaint little blue-hued restaurant along the less populated and idyllic Tanjung Rhu beach, Scarborough Fish & Chips serves up the best British styled fish & chips in the island. It is the perfect spot to have lunch after spending the whole morning exploring new summits. The variety of fish in this restaurant is aplenty as you can choose your type of fish ranging from snow fish, mackerel, barracuda, red snapper, salmon and halibut. Once you are done with lunch, unwind by the beach and enjoy a peaceful afternoon on the beach with your fellow travel companions with a cool tall glass of iced lemon tea!

Ride the Waves with Sea Splash Langkawi

End your day on a perfect note with Sea Splash Langkawi, the first and only non-alcoholic cruise in the island. Depart from the Royal Langkawi Yacht Club marina for some eagle watching and feeding session at Singa Besar island. Watch the majestic sights of the eagles soaring high in the sky and then diving into the sea for chicken bits that were thrown by the cruise operators. You can even pay a visit to the captain’s bridge to play captain and pretend to steer the ship under the watchful eye of the captain. As the boat glides into the Andaman waters, take a dip in the sea waters for a “Sea Jacuzzi” session, where you gently float into a wide net that is suspended into the ocean. The sailing cruise motion helps the waves to lap gently against your body as you lay back; creating the unique sensation of being in a jacuzzi. After a good soak in the Andaman Sea, climb back up onto the boat and enjoy a good hearty barbeque dinner with an enticing array of grilled lamb, roasted chicken, chicken satays and mixed grilled skewers prepared by the crew as you enjoy the evening twilight skies.
