Not only is their display of pastries super pretty, with salted egg everything being the current craze of the season, you need to check out relative newcomer Dotty’s for their salted egg yolk cronut (combing two food fads in one!). From what we hear, their speculoos éclair isn’t one to be missed as well.

#HHWT Tip: Their salted egg cronuts are released in 3 batches daily, and can be pre-ordered with a minimum of 6 pieces per order. For walk-in customers, purchases are limited to 4 cronuts per person.

2. Rimba & Rusa by Wondermilk

This light, airy space by long time cafepreneurs and purveyors of delicious cupcakes Wondermilk is not only a stylish space for a cosy get together, it’s also kid-friendly (big plus point for all new parents out there)! Rimba & Rusa focuses more on all day dining offerings instead of Wondermilk’s signature cupcakes and light food.

3. Peter & Mawar

Peter & Mawar’s name was inspired by the interracial love story of the owner’s friend – how sweet! This gorgeously designed cafe serves reasonably priced food, and has both Asian and Western fare on its menu. Definitely looks like a place where sparks will fly ? The churros look pretty good too!

4. Grind 22

If you’re looking for a cosy little hideaway in the city, Grind 22 Might just be the spot for you to grab a great cup of coffee and desserts (the Nona latte is yummy!). They’ve also got noodle aficionados Wok It at their premise every Friday night (soon to be permanently) for a quick stir fry fix, and regularly have different promotions or food trucks down at the cafe.

6. eat X dignity

Not only does eat X dignity have an airy and welcoming interior (with board games to boot!), what better way to feel good than knowing that when you’re digging into that crispy fried chicken, you’re also supporting the skills training program of the Dignity for Children Foundation, which aims to empower underprivileged children to break the cycle of poverty by providing them with quality education. The eatery is a social enterprise staffed by the older students from Dignity for Children Foundation, as part of their work experience and skills education. Not only is their food good, it’s very reasonably priced as well!

7. Merchant’s Lane

There’s plenty of natural lighting in this beautiful rustic café that’s hidden in the heart of Petaling Street, perfect for capturing 172985 photos! Housed in a heritage shop-house, the cafe serves up Asian inspired comfort dishes and distinctive beverages like rose honey milk and jasmine infused black coffee. 8. LOKL Coffee Co

LOKL (a play off the word ‘local’), is tucked in Jalan Tun H.S. Lee at the heart of old Kuala Lumpur and is just a short walk away from the iconic Masjid Jamek. The cafe is owned by Cheryl Samad, a well known emcee, tv presenter and actress. In spite of its famous owner, the cafe has a comfortable and relaxed vibe, perfect for a quiet afternoon with a book, serving comforting fare and an assortment of cakes sourced from local bakers.
