2.    Transfer Road Roti Canai

Transfer Road’s Roti Canai serves as one of the legendary roti canai spots in town. We’ve even featured it in our ‘Best Breakfast in Penang’ list. So grab a chair and taste the best roti canai in town with the locals. What’s the must-try here? We recommend beef gravy and chicken curry. Thank us later!

3.    Penang Road Chendol

Enjoying a bowl of Penang’s famous chendol is a must after a glutton of mouth-watering dishes. Upon reaching Penang Road, you will spot an enthusiastic crowd queuing patiently to taste the legendary Teow Chew Chendol. Trust me, this is the street food you can’t afford to miss in Penang. They have opened several outlets in Penang, but I still think that the roadside one tastes the best.

One bowl is never enough for me though. *finger-crossed*

4.    Air Itam Laksa

How can you miss Penang’s state-sanctioned Laksa right? So, here comes two delectable laksa stalls in Air Itam for you! If you’re visiting Kek Lok Si or Penang Hill, do remember to visit the two stalls.

It’s always crowded at the super famous Air Itam Laksa as it’s loved by both locals and tourists. I personally like it because the broth is rich and the fish is fresh.

5.    Bangkok Lane Mee Goreng

Penang style Mee Goreng is definitely a must-eat in the Pearl of the Orient. The uncle who makes it is a local Indian but speaks fluent Hokkien. When he’s in a good mood, you can spot him showing off his Hokkien while cooking. Well, I guess this is the beauty of Penang’s mix of culture.
