Visit Ho Chi Minh city Museum

Ho Chi Minh city Museum was built in 1885. It formerly served as the former residence for the Governor of Cochinchina. Do checkout the underground tunnels if you are here. It is one of the interesting features of the museum.

The Independence Palace

The historical Independence Palace was once known as the Norodom Palace. It was the official residence of the former President of South Vietnam. Apart from the underground tunnels, make your way to the War Room, where it feels like you are in a time warp.

Visit the Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica of Saigon

The Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of The Immaculate Conception was built in the 1800s. It has similar features to the churches in France. If you are here, immerse yourself in its tranquility.

Saigon Central Post Office

Later, cross the road and visit Saigon Central Post Office. It is one of the buildings in the city which has a unique colonial design. Don’t forget to send a postcard or two when you are here.

Ho Chi Minh City Hall

An elegant white building known as the Ho Chi Minh city hall, here is another place where you can appreciate the special characteristic of colonial architecture in Vietnam. It is situated near a square and make a good spot for an OOTD photoshoot.

Eat local food!

Of course, during your layover, you can sample some local dishes along. Try the beef noodle soup, which is one of the staple food of the local. Also do not forget to try Vietnamese coffee, which is world-famous for its strong and sweet taste.

Do Some Shopping!

Even if you are on a short layover, try to make your time to the Banh Thanh Market. You can buy some souvenirs and although just a layover, you can tell your family members that you have visited Vietnam!
